Taking My Financial Future to the WSU Launchpad Parramatta Pitch Night

Last week was a big one for us at My Financial Future.

I attended Parramatta Pitch Night at Western Sydney University’s Launchpad, and the room was packed with people backing themselves and their ideas. There was a strong mix of early-stage founders, community supporters, and students who genuinely wanted to hear what was being built. The quality of businesses pitching was high, and everyone rose to the challenge in their own way.

I pitched My Financial Future and spoke about why financial literacy for young adults matters so much. Too many people leave school or university without understanding how money actually works. Things like superannuation, debt, saving, and long term decision making are often learned through mistakes rather than education. My Financial Future exists to make that learning clearer, more practical, and accessible through workshops and an online course designed specifically for young adults.

Out of six businesses pitching on the night, My Financial Future was awarded the People’s Choice Award. Being voted for by the audience meant a lot. It was a reminder that this issue resonates with people, and that there is strong support for financial education that is honest, relevant, and free from judgement.

Pitch Night sat in the middle of a very full week. On Monday, we attended the Macquarie Park Ryde Business Chamber and connected with local business owners. On Friday, we began the INCO Elevate Australia Express 2026 program at the Impact Story Lab in Sydney. This program will help us sharpen how we scale our impact as a social enterprise, allowing us to reach more people through our workshops and online education.

The week highlighted how much impact can come from showing up and sharing the work we are building. With the support we’ve received and the programs now underway, we’re focused on expanding our workshops and online education to reach more young people and help them build confidence with money.
