Financial literacy is a powerful yet often overlooked foundation for lifelong wellbeing and independence. Financially Fit in Parramatta online brings the program our facilitators teach in classrooms to young people across the Parramatta LGA, on your schedule, from any device.
Financial stress is an emotional wound. For young Australians it shows up as anxiety, shame, avoidance and the quiet belief, "I am bad with money." You will start with your own money story, then build a budget, learn to spot scams and buy now pay later traps, make sense of your payslip and super, and finish with a plan you can act on.
You will not learn alone. Every participant joins the self-paced FinReady online community, with ongoing activities and peer support that keep the work going.
Four phases of practical money skills, plus interactive activities, taking you from money mindset to a plan you can act on.
Your money story and beliefs, needs versus wants, and building a budget and tracking your spending.
Avoidance, shame and scarcity. Buy now pay later, credit and interest. Spotting scams and predatory design.
Payslips, tax and TFNs. Super and your rights at work. Saving, compound interest and investing.
Setting SMART money goals, a 90 day money plan, and a new story about who you are with money.
This course is free for young people aged 14 to 25 who live in the City of Parramatta local government area (the Parramatta LGA). You must live in one of these suburbs to be eligible for a free place:
Some suburbs sit across council borders, so if you are not sure your address is in the Parramatta LGA, get in touch. Places are limited. If you are outside this area, take a look at FinReady Foundations, which is open to everyone.
